The Haryana government has signed Letters of Intent (LoIs) worth Rs 4,000 crore with Swedish companies during Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s four-day visit to Sweden, an official statement said on Friday.

The agreements cover investments worth Rs 3,000 crore in one major proposal and another Rs 1,000 crore in the retail and warehousing sectors. The state government said the proposals are expected to support industrial expansion, logistics infrastructure and employment generation.

During the visit, Gurugram and Stockholm also reached a city-to-city collaboration agreement to promote technological innovation, smart city solutions, sustainable urban development, knowledge exchange and investment.

Saini said the visit was an important step towards strengthening Haryana’s position as an investment destination. He said the state would provide the necessary support to ensure the proposed investments are implemented at the earliest.

The chief minister also visited the Stockholm headquarters of telecommunications company Ericsson, where he received a briefing on developments in communications technology and robotics for emergency response in remote areas. He discussed the potential use of these technologies in Haryana’s communication infrastructure and disaster management systems.

At Truecaller’s headquarters, Saini met co-founder Alan Mamedi and discussed the use of technology to strengthen digital security and protect citizens from spam and fraudulent calls.

Saini also visited Envac’s waste management facility to study its system and explore the possibility of adopting similar technology in Haryana’s cities.

The state government said the Sweden visit was aimed at attracting foreign investment, strengthening industrial partnerships and expanding cooperation in technology and sustainable development.
