In its continues endeavor to ensure availability of essential commodities like food grain across the country through its freight & parcel services during the nationwide lock down due to Covid-19, despite severe constraints, Ferozpur Division of Northern railway has started the financial year 2020-21 with record breaking loading of food grains in the month of April -2020. In this month, total 1.10 MT in 401 rakes of food grain has been loaded which is the highest ever in a month. Previous best was 1.05 MT or 362 rakes loaded in August -2016 and 1.03 MT or 365 rakes loaded in March -2015.
In addition to above, Ferozpur Division has also formed and run 61 long hauls Annapurna trains in the month of April -2020 which is also the highest ever in a month, surpassing the earlier record of 16 long hauls run in March-2020.
