Distinguished Scientist of DRDO and Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister, Dr G Satheesh Reddy was presented with GCMM (Global Congress in Manufacturing Management) life Time Achievement Award from VIT University on the last Saturday. The Award was presented by GV Selvam, Vice President, VIT University during the one-day workshop on ‘Advanced Manufacturing Technologies’ was organised along with the Inauguration of ASM International Student Chapter at VIT, has been organised at VIT, Vellore.
Presenting the prestigious award, GV Selvam said that the VIT was glad to award the eminent scientist of the country serving Defence Ministry. Vice President, VIT University said that ‘Make in India’ scheme had boosted the country’s economic growth to get the recognition globally, adding that India achieved sixth position among the top manufacturing industries across the globe. India was showing interest in increasing manufacturing to achieve 25 per cent of GDP by 2025.
