The city’s annual gold extravaganza, MMTC’s Festival of Gold, has returned with the Dhanteras edition of its popular Festival of Gold to cater to the city’s demand for gold and silver this festive season. On offer is the company’s wide range of hallmarked gold and certified studded jewellery from different states of India, gold and silver medallions in guaranteed purity, Sanchi silverware with attractive discounts on select items, and the Government of India’s Indian Gold Coin and Bullion.
The Minister of State for Commerce & Industry (Independent Charge), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the event on the last Thursday in New Delhi along with the Commerce Secretary, Rita Teaotia. The Commerce Minister, accompanied by the Commerce Secretary and MMTC's CMD, Ved Prakash, lit the inaugural lamp and declared the Festival of Gold open. Nirtmala said that gold as an investment is an attractive consumer choice, especially during festivals, and MMTC is fulfilling this festive demand with its quality- assured gold, high-quality silverware, and medallions. She added that the Company’s Sanchi silverware in particular has stood out for its very good quality, as has its medallions. “India has made a big difference in the gems and jewellery trade, and this is one sector that has stood strong,” the Minister concluded.
Commerce Secretary, Teaotia also mentioned the fact that MMTC has continued to be a part of major initiatives to promote consumers interests over the years, the latest being the Govt’s first-ever sovereign gold coin offering, the ‘Indian Gold Coin’, which she described as ‘the expression of the ability of India to provide the certainty and assurance of purity to consumers in the country rather than being dependent on imported gold coins.”
