China will need at least one lakh new civil aviation pilots over the next 20 years to meet the requirements of world's fastest growing aviation market, Boeing said in a forecast on Thursday. The Asia-Pacific region will have the greatest demand for commercial airline pilots and technicians worldwide over the next 20 years, approximately 40 per cent of the global need, said Boeing in its 2015 Boeing Pilot and Technician Outlook, which projects aviation personnel demand. Notably, the demand for commercial pilots and technicians in the Asia-Pacific region is more than the demand in North America, Africa and Europe combined.
