'BJP allegation baseless and childish'

Defending State Congress Chief Bhupesh Baghel over allegations levelled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for his involvement in an alleged land grabbing case, leader of Congress legislative Party (ClP) TS Singhdeo termed the allegations as ‘baseless and childish’.

“This is matter of 1995 or earlier and house has been constructed over the plot. The first floor plan was signed and passed by Vijay Baghel, the person who is levelling allegations. In the construction of the house Vijay Baghel is a signatory as the then President of the Municipality,” Singhdeo revealed.

“It is an attempt to divert attention from all the misdoings of Anti Corruption Bureau where they have attempted to brush under the carpet those big names which would have been part of report and against whom action should have been taken in Civil Supplies case,” Singhdeo stated.

Detailing about the land deal,  Singhdeo informed that Bhupesh’s mother and wife had submitted whole amount for getting the plot with Special Area Development Authority (SADA) but they were told that no plot was available in the prime locations.

“If there would have been any chance of Bhupesh Baghel being influential, powerful or resourceful person at that point of time then he would have got the plot for which his family member had submitted the money. But he was told that now there were no more plots in colony which they had applied for and his first choice was rejected by SADA,” he stated.

Singhdeo further said that Vijay Baghel should also think of what he was doing when he was the Parliamentary Secretary and looking after home constituency.

Why did not he came up with anything then, Singhdeo questioned adding after rummaging through records of Bhupesh Baghel they have come up with something which is completely legal and with documentary proof.
