Auto Expo 2014 to be in Greater Noida

Published on:

For the first time the biennial event, Auto expo for automobile manufacturers and auto component makers, will be held separately at Greater Noida and Pragati Maidan respectively in February 2014.

“With the increasing participation of exhibitors, visiting auto enthusiasts and paucity of space it was very difficult to cope at Pragati Maidan venue. It has been decided that the 2014 edition of Auto expo will be held at two venues,” said SIAM President Vikram Kirloskar.

“While the Greater Noida centre will exhibit automobiles including four wheelers and two wheelers, the Pragati Maidan venue will host component makers. The motor show will held at Greater Noida from February 5 -11, while the component show will continue to be at Paragti Maidan from February 6-9, 2014.

Explaining the reasons behind shifting of the venue, Kirloskar, said: “We wanted to give international feel to the expo to be held next year, so we chose this venue (Greater Noida).”

He, at the same time, also added that the organisers were looking for a bigger venue for the next edition of the expo so that both automobiles and component makers could exhibit their products in one place.

With new participants like Chrysler of the Fiat Group, DSK Hyosung and Isuzu Motors in the list, the expo will have 41 companies showcasing their new products.

“The exhibition space next year will be 48,000 square metre as against 39,000 square metres in the previous edition. Also the number of exhibitors will be up from 35 to around 41,” informed SIAM Deputy Director General Sugato Sen.Expected footfall per day during the auto expo would be in the range of 70,000-75,000 people per day, he added.

Tickets would be available online, offline as well onsite and organisers are talking to various organisations including Book My Show, Barista and Delhi Metro for sale of tickets.
