Audi India on Thursday launched the third-generation of their TT Sportscar. The car which comes with Audi’s next-generation ‘virtual cockpit’ that does away with traditional instruments and replaces them with one large 12-inch screen is the first ‘next-generation’ vehicle from the German carmaker. The third-generation Audi TT also comes with a two-litre TFSI petrol engine that develops 230 horsepower and helps the car along to a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It will be priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs60.34 lakh.

This is Audi’s third launch in 2015, among a planned 10 launches for the year. Joe King the head of Audi India, told The Pioneer that he was extremely pleased with the company’s sales performance in the first quarter, “We have improved sales and this is despite the economic indicators not being quite as strong as they could be. In addition, we are replacing several models in the next few months with their next-generation counterparts, like this TT, thus I believe our sales performance has been truly impressive.”

King also said that responses from customers and dealers for this two-door sportscar has been strong. “There is no real competitor to this car in the Indian market right now, and I believe the pricing of the car is really impressive and will help young professionals who would like an exciting car to drive an option that did not exist earlier, particularly given its impressive suite of in-car features.”
