Renowned media icon and journalist, Bhupendra Chaubey, participated in an event organized by All ladies league (All) Pune Chapter on the subject of “Media as a Friend of Civil Society”. Speaking to a gathering of almost hundred ladies from the city he said that “The equation between women and the media is crucial. Media in India has not yet got into a mode of daily dose of news on women issues. However, we do try in our limited way to reach out and make a difference. The real edifice for this is an open media.” He also added that “We need to empower bodies like All, a body that talks about issues most organizations don’t talk about.”

Kuiljeit Uppaal, Chapter Chairperson All Pune said that “The All ladies league is a mindset and movement for the enrichment of society, evolving through the path of greater women’s leadership and expression wherein they would need the media as a friend in order to bring more visibility to women’s leadership at all levels, and as a social agent, help towards transforming public policies as also changing mindsets toward women security, leadership, and empowerment.”

Radhika Budhwar, Vice Chapter Chairperson All Pune, added that “As a part of our All-inclusiveness, we now also invite as members, supportive men who believe in the cause of women’s brand of ‘leadership with love’ and pledge that they will together be the harbingers of change in moving the world back to retain its human values, shared ethics and the collective happiness of One and All.”

The interactive session was attended by eminent business leaders, educationists, lawyers, doctors, media personnel, entrepreneurs, designers, beauty and fitness experts and the defence forces.  With over 150 chapters worldwide, its overarching goal is to exponentially enhance women’s leadership and women’s friendship locally and globally so that women become proactive agents of change in All spheres of self and society, including bringing in the much needed understanding among cultures and peace across borders, apart from becoming self-reliant and self-assured in their own personal expressions.
