The Monsoon season is usually the weakest one for the Indian aviation industry. As schools and colleges reopen as the summer vacations end, the challenge of filling seats intensifies. After SpiceJet and IndiGo started offering huge discounts with tickets priced at Rs  999 and Rs  1212, today full-service carriers Jet Airways and Vistara started offering their sales. A day after adding 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to their existing order of 150 aircraft, Jet Airways announced that they will be offering a sale of up to 30 per cent on most of their international network with the exception of flights to Toronto and one-way tickets to Dhaka.

Jet’s fast-growing rival Vistara also started a 24-hour flash-sale offering Economy-class seats at Rs  1299, Premium Economy seats at Rs  2499 and Business Class seats at Rs  6099 for travel between July 25 and October 11. Air Asia India is also offering a 30 per cent discount on airfares and Air Asia Berhad, the Malaysia-based parent company of Air Asia India is offering discounted fares to Kuala lumpur and beyond for Indian passengers from secondary cities including Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam.
