Sir — This refers to the report, “Congress will back Kani in RS poll” (June 26).
The Congress’s decision to support 2G Spectrum scam-tainted DMK leader Kanimozhi is on expected lines. This effectively demonstrates the ruling party’s will, or lack of it, to cleanse the system of corruption. It is being claimed that the DMK will return this ‘favour’ by supporting the Congress-led UPA Government on the controversial food security Bill.
Indeed, the Congress and the DMK seem to have reached a happy understanding to scratch each other’s back and defend the corrupt and the indefensible!
