While completing two years of its foundation, on June 2, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has taken a ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’ urging people of the state to be prepared for working tirelessly to ‘rebuild the state’. To him, the state is facing continued hurdles as the bifurcation was absolutely unscientific that left Andhra with a huge revenue deficit and without a capital city. He has solely blamed the Congress party for the separation of the two states which is causing endless troubles for them.
Being an old NDA ally, Narendra Modi Government at the centre needs to expedite the process for resolving bifurcation related issues of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu is bringing it to the notice of the Union Government for completing the division of government institutions listed under Schedule 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. It is high time, the NDA Government should amicably solve these contentious issues as both the AP and Telangana have just completed two years of separation.
Naidu, being an astute politician, must ensure that his grand promises of making agriculture profitable, creating an IT graduate and an entrepreneur in every house and building 3 mega cities with Capital City standing as India’s best gradually leads to fruition in the days to come.At two years of separation, Naidu has few significant achievements which are surely noteworthy: his relentless efforts to complete the construction work for the new capital at Vijayawada, Vizag as financial capital and Rayalaseema as industrial & spiritual hub have to be applauded. Also he has conducted the first paperless Cabinet meeting in the history of independent India. He had announced a hike in social security pension from rupees 200 to rupees 1,000 per month. The scheme came into effect from 2nd of October 2014. This is the biggest welfare scheme implemented by the TDP government, helping 44,41,795 people in Andhra Pradesh. It became the first state in the country to formulate a ‘Start Up Policy’ and inaugurated the “Sunrise Startup Village”.The weather forecast was done with cutting edge technology and real time data was used to send alerts which helped in saving many lives with a minimal life loss of 48 and electricity was restored in under 7 days when the cyclone hit the state last year.
Above all, AP is facing a revenue deficit of rupees 16000 crores at the end of the first year of partition, but Delhi has so far released only rupees 2300 crores for bridging this huge gap. Whatsoever it may be, it must be noted that despite facing mounting obstacles starting from building a new capital to the myriad issues related to grievances to good governance, Naidu has appealed to make sacrifices for upgrading the state to the level of Asia’s best of the economies like that of Japan, Singapore, South Korea etc. Hope he does a Japan or Singapore to AP and the Modi Government must lend its full support for the same!
