Brain Stormer: AAP: Nobody's Baap, Better Do Your Work

Arvind Kejriwal, the man who always finds the fault with either the BJP or Congress for Delhi’s woes, has finally decided to call for a two day special session of Delhi Assembly to discuss various issues including lack of cleanliness of the capital. Once again, Kejriwal, the one-tracked politician has alleged that BJP is solely responsible for a ‘dirty Delhi’, as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) directly functions under the Union Government led by the party. Mud-slinging being his old habit, the media savvy twitter politician has said: "Delhi Assembly session next week to discuss how BJP's MCD has made whole of Delhi into a garbage bin due to its corruption and mismanagement (sic),".

It is really sad that first of all, being the champion of common man of the capital, he should have ensured that whatever staff and resources are available with his Government, he should have ensured the cleanliness of the city. Second, instead of levelling charges against either BJP or Congress, he must understand that for Delhi’s abysmal record of cleanliness, its citizens, passerby people and the massive number of migrants and commuters that are alarmingly rising in the city, have a potential role in it.

Finally and most importantly, a recent RTI reply has revealed that Kejriwal has not spent a single rupee on development work in his Assembly constituency of New Delhi so far. According to the reply, dispatched from the office of the Deputy Commissioner (HQ), nothing out of the Rs. 300 crore allotted for development work for New Delhi was spent by him during the financial year 2015-16. Further, after a year in power, for ushering  in an era of Swaraj, AAP government has identified 3000 mahalla sabhas have been identified in a bid to encourage local level participation in the process of governance. Also, the Delhi Government has announced a Rs. 350 crore Swaraj budget for executing civic projects which will be finalized by the mohalla sabhas.

Surely, it is a fabulous planning to bring governance back to the people, but wasting time and public money for promoting utopian dreams of his own, might leave Delhi much behind the most of the capital cities of the world. He has repeatedly promised to make Delhi a world class city and he must set the example by doing the same. A party full of the leftover of the ‘leftists’  and the people including the Chief Minister, who have always a habit of challenging all the political heavyweights of the country, now must simply deliver public service without any delay. Already the AAP is suffering for increasingly becoming an Akela Arvind Party for his dominant style of functioning, so now the cityzens should not be left to bear with poor health and hygiene by simply blaming the BJP or Congress. It is expected that he should not fail the massive mandate given to him by the Delhites!
