Owing allegiance to the Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangha, hundreds of youths of Cuttack city on Friday submitted a memorandum, addressed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, to the district Collector here urging the CM to save the city from an imminent jaundice epidemic.
Annexing a sample study made recently over the poor civic facilities in the city, the memorandum claimed that due to an administrative paralysis both in the local civic body as well as in the district administration, the residents of the Millennium City are now severely deprived of basic facilities like drinking water and cleanliness.
“With choked drains, poor sanitation and littered garbage all around, the mosquito menace in the city has made the life horrendous in almost all the wards of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC),” the memorandum said. Stating views from several eminent persons from across the city that blame the local administration for the present situation, the memorandum urged the CM for his immediate intervention.
