A youth of Sundargarh has landed in jail allegedly for threatening his wife to make a video of their intimate moments viral when she opposed his relationship with another girl and wanted divorce from him.
Sources said a resident of Kodabahal village under the Hemgiri police station in Sundargarh district, Ashok Urmal(30) got married to one Kamini Deep (27), a resident of Belpahar, who is working as a teacher in a school in Jharsuguda district.
As per the FIR lodged by Kamini with the Hemgiri police, after her marriage with Ashok, she came to know that before marrying her, Ashok had court marriage with another girl and he used to be in constantly in touch with her.
Since Kamini was a working lady and was staying near her work place in Jharsuguda district, Ashok took advantage of it and used to meet the first love regularly.
When Kamini started opposing the affair, Ashok allegedly used to torture her physically and mentally. Kamini had lodged a FIR against Ashok in Hemgiri PS two months ago allegedly for torturing her. Police at that time registered a case under IPC section 498(a) against Ashok and had served him a notice.
As per the FIR lodged recently by Kamini, Ashok was threatening her regularly and telling her that he would not divorce her and if Kamini insisted for divorce, he (Ashok) would make their intimate relation video viral. Hemgiri police after registering a case under Sections 498(a) and 506 of IPC, arrested Ashok and forwarded him to court on Tuesday evening.
“Acting on her FIR, we arrested her husband and forwarded him to court. After his bail plea was rejected he was sent to jail said Hemgiri PS IIC Sradhanjali Subudhi.
