Eighteen-year-old Muna Singh of Kundali Chhak under the Raibania police station was admitted in the District Headquarters Hospital here after receiving over 85 per cent burn injuries under mysterious circumstances.
While Muna’s mother alleged that her son was burnt by a particular village group following a meeting and feast on Tuesday night, the police said it was yet to receive any complaint in this regard.
“I didn’t get any FIR in this connection from anyone. We have learnt that hot dal fell on him while the feast was going on. Action would be taken as soon as a complaint is received,” said Raibania PS OIC Gopal Singh.
However, a source in the village said the incident was an outcome of money collection for construction of a temple in the village. The victim had raised some objections regarding money collection and utilization last night during the meeting and feast, the source said.
