Panic gripped Siarimal village under the Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district following the death of a youth who was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, deceased Sunil Bisoi was on his way to take bath in a village pond when he was shot by unidentified miscreants.
Following information, the police reached the spot and sent the body to the Bhanjanagar hospital for postmortem.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the murder was fallout of longstanding enmity, the police said, adding that efforts were on to nab the assailants.
