In a glaring example of the deteriorating law and order situation in Khordha town, a youth was shot dead by unidentified miscreants near the Pitchukali paints factory on Sunday.
The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained. After the incident, the bike-borne attackers fled from the spot in a flash unopposed, according to eyewitness accounts.
The police rushed to the spot and started conducting investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. However, the motive behind the heinous crime was yet to be known. The incident has sent shock waves among the local residents.
