Mystery shrouds incident as gun missing
A youth allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself following a quarrel with his mother in Kalami village in the district on Friday night.
The deceased, identified as Rakesh Behera, was a driver by profession.
Sources said Rakesh had an argument with his mother over some matter after he reached home along with a friend. Later, Rakesh committed suicide by shooting himself from a gun, claimed family members. However, as the gun used by Rakesh was missing, it raised suspicion in the minds of locals over the incident.
“Police reached the spot and recovered Rakesh’s body from the spot. We have seized an empty bullet shell and a live bullet from the spot. We have sent the body for postmortem and further investigation is on,” said Bargarh SDPO Khirsagar Nayak.
