An 18-year-old youth was run over by a dumper at Rangiamunda village square in Sundargarh on Sunday afternoon.Following the tragic mishap, hundreds of locals blocked the road towards MCl Basundhara mines, demanding compensation for the victim’s family.
Sources said Rakesh Munda (18), a resident of Budabahal village under Sadar Police station limits, was going in his cycle from Rangiamunda village towards Budabahal when he was run over by a dumper (OR-14T-9879). Munda died on the spot. Police have arrested dumper driver Manmohan Acharya (31) and seized the vehicle.
