A youth who attempted suicide by drinking poison and rescued by police in front of the Jayadev Bhawan near the State Secretariat here died on Monday.
The deceased Nirakar Sahu was a resident of Khuntuni in Cuttack district and was rescued by the police in a serious condition after drinking poison on Sunday. He was undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital here.
According to reports the youth was distressed due to a failed love affair with a married woman in his locality. The woman’s husband had filed a police report accusing him of abduction.
Nirakar was running away from police and was hiding in Bhubaneswar. He had drunk poison on Sunday in front of the Jayadev Bhawan and was admitted at the Capital hospital in serious condition.
He was reportedly died due to multiple organ failure.
