Youth Policy will serve no purpose, alleges DYFI

The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State unit on Sunday alleged that the recently-announced Odisha Youth Policy-2013 would not solve the basic issues of the youth fraternity like providing them employment.

“The Youth Policy is just an eyewash to divert the attention of the youth mass from the inefficiency of the State Government.

While nearly 1.61 lakh posts remain vacant in 39 departments across the State, the Government is neither taking any step to recruit new employees to fill up the posts nor initiating steps to fill up the posts by giving promotions,” said DYFI State president Jatin Mohanty here at a State-level youth convention held to discuss on the federation’s decision of holding a demonstration in front of Parliament on August 12.

He also blasted both the Central and State Governments for their “anti-people” policies.

“Our Central unit has called for a mass agitation on August 12 in front of Parliament to protest against the anti-people policies of the Congress-led UPA Government and also for its ‘failure’ on all fronts including checking rampant corruption and price rise. Nearly 1,000 youth activists from Odisha would participate in the agitation in Delhi,” said Mohanty.

Among others, CPI(M) State committee member Suresh Panigrahi and federation State secretary Suresh Swain were present.
