A youth of Jharsuguda who had married to a Sundargarh girl about six months back, against the wish of his family and was living separately at her in-laws’ house, has reportedly gone missing from Jharsuguda station since last one week.

His wife after searching him, finally lodged a missing report in the Sundargarh Sadar police station on Saturday. Sadar police, besides registering a case, started an investigation into the case.

Sources said as per the complaint filed by one Kajol Patel, a girl of Kirei area of Sundargarh district had married to one Sanjay Gupta, a native of neighboring Jharsguda town, about six months back. Sources said, Kajol and Sanjay were in love before their marriage, which, however, was not accepted by Sanjay’s family. Since Sanjay’s family did  not  give  their  consent for  marriage, he had started living with Kajol in her house, since last one year. About six months back, Sanjay and Kajol had formally married  in Kajol’s native village. Sanjay later had opened a textile retail store at Kirei by taking loan from a local finance company.

As per the complaint of Kajol, Sanjay used to visit Raipur frequently to bring the textile materials for his shops. Accordingly, on September 11, Sanjay along with his  father-in-law(father of  Kajol) had left their house to Jharsuguda railway station, from where he was supposed to board a train to Raipur. Sanjay had taken about `20,000 with him for purchase of materials for his shop. Kajol’s father had dropped Sanjay at Jharsuguda station and returned home.

Sanjay reportedly had also talked with Kajol from Jharsuguda station and had mentioned that his train is running late by an hour. After that there was no communication between them. On next day, when Kajol wanted to contact Sanjay, his phone was switched off.
