In a deeply disturbing incident, a youth committed suicide by slitting his wrist with a shaving blade while live streaming it in Facebook.
The incident took place in Anandpur NAC of Keonjhar district late on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Pappu Sahani, a staff of the Anandpur block office.
Pappu in the live video could be seen playing a sad Bollywood song in the background and slitting his wrist with the blade.On Saturday, a friend who visited Pappu’s house, found him dead.
Later, police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem. While it was yet to be ascertained why Pappu took the extreme step, some of his neighbours alleged he used to get drunk and thrash his mother. Unable to bear the torture, the latter was staying with her daughter. However, possibility of a ‘failed love’ angle was also being suspected in the case and investigations were on.
