A youth was murdered by a group of persons at Kuapada village in the Delang area of Puri district on Friday morning.
It was suspected that the deceased, identified as Niranjan Balabantaray, was killed over past enmity.
According to reports, Niranjan was attacked by a group of four to five persons when he had gone to attend nature’s call.
He sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the Delang hospital. He was later shifted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police have started investigation into the incident. Till last reports came in, no arrests were made in the case.
Cops were also trying to control the situation at the village where tension erupted after the death of Niranjan.
