A dead body of a youth was found on Tuesday morning on the outskirts of Dahisahi village under the Morada police station in Mayurbhanj district. The deceased was identified as Rajesh Sharma of Shankarpur village in Bhadrak district. It is suspected that Rajesh was allegedly hacked to death over a love affair.
Locals spotted the body lying in a pool of blood near a farmland on the outskirts of the village. Rajesh was allegedly murdered by one Thakura Marandi as the former was involved in an illicit love affair with the latter’s wife.
On being informed, police reached the spot and sent Rajesh’s body for post-mortem.
While Thakura is in police custody for interrogation, an investigation into the case is underway, the police said.
