The Balanga police arrested one Manas Rath from Bhubaneswar on Friday for cheating a girl of Balanga and exploiting her sexually.
It was known that Manas and the girl were living together like wife and husband in Manas’s village Aratanda under the Kanpur police station in Cuttack district.
When Manas did not marry the girl and threatened her to make the videos of their intimate relations viral in social media and drop acid on her if she did not refrain from pestering her, the victim lodged an FIR at the Balanga police station and the police started an investigation.
After tracking his mobile, the police knew that Manas was staying in Bhubaneswar and then arrested him.
The police also have got information that Manas had cheated a doctor of Balanga of Rs 60,000 on the promise of giving his wife a job in a multinational company. More investigations were on.
