Police arrested a youth on the charge of sedition in Keonjhar district on Sunday. The accused was identified as Sadam Ansari (28) of Arsala village under the Jhumpura police limits.
According to reports, the Jhumpura police arrested Sadam for allegedly affecting sovereignty of India by posting a controversial picture on social media site Facebook. In the photo, Sadam was featured being wrapped in Pakistani flag on the Independence Day of Pakistan on August 14.
The Keonjhar district police filed a sedition case and launched investigation after the photo went viral within a short period of the post on Facebook.
Jhumpura police IIC Archana Mallick arrested Sadam from his home at around 9 pm.
