The Patkura police on Monday arrested a youth for allegedly raping a 17-year-old physically and mentally-disabled minor girl at Nuapada village on Sunday night.
When the girl had gone outside to defecate on the fateful night, Tapan Behera (26), a neighbour of the minor, took her to the backside of a shop, where she was gang-raped by a couple of youths.
The girl later brought the matter before her parents, following which her father lodged an FIR at Patkura police station on Monday.
The police arrested Behera and later produced him before the SDJM court, from where he was remanded into jail custody as his bail plea was rejected by court, said Patkura PS IIC Jyoti Ranjan Guada.
