The Bargaon police on Tuesday arrested and court-forwarded a 30-year-old youth on the charge of kidnapping and raping a minor girl belonging to Manchmara village under its jurisdiction in Sundargarh district six months ago. The cops have also rescued the girl.
Sources said Ajit Beuria(30) of Kinjrikela area under the same police station had allegedly kidnapped the girl in December 2013. Victim’s father had lodged an FIR accusing Ajit.
Acting on a tip-off, the police on Monday went to Ajit’s house and arrested him. Ajit along with the girl had come to see his ailing mother. According to sources, Ajit had taken the girl to Brajrajnagar area and was staying there.
