A youth was arrested here on Friday allegedly for posting a picture of a girl and her contact number on Facebook terming her as a call-girl with whom he had developed contact through the social media.
The victim girl had lodged a complaint about six months back but the youth could not be traced by police since he had used a fake SIM card for opening a Facebook account. The police could trace the accused only after contacting Facebook headquarters at Carlifornia in the USA.
Th youth was identified as P Vinay Kumar (22), a youth residing in Diesel colony area in Bondamunda area. About a year back, Kumar had developed contact with the victim girl, from an educated family, also from Bondamunda locality, through Facebook. Vinay reportedly later proposed to develop intimacy with the girl but was turned down.
To settle a score, Vinay posted the picture and contact number of the girl in the Facebook terming her as a call girl. After the posting, several unsocial elements had tried to contact the girl on her telephone number. After coming to know about this, the girl and her family members had lodged a complaint in Bondamunda police station on January 25. The police had registered a case and started an investigation.
“We have also seized his cell phone and fake SIM card,” Bondamunda police station IIC Susant Das said.
