Police arrested a 28-year-old youth and forwarded him to court here on Wednesday for allegedly ditching a girl after keeping physical relationship with her. Robin Mohanty, who has a goat farm at Nilgiri in Baleswar, had engaged the 14-year-old tribal girl to look after the farm. Assuring the girl to marry her, he developed physical relationship with her, following which she became pregnant.
The girl alleged that Mohanty did not agree to marry and tried to terminate her pregnancy and even threatened her to kill her. Being helpless, the victim registered a complaint. A case was registered in this connection, said Nilgiri PS IIC Kartik Malick.
