The Cyber police on Tuesday arrested a youth in the city on the charge of circulating morphed videos of a minor girl on social media platforms. The accused was identified as Mukesh Nayak, a resident of Samantarapur in the city.
Reports said Mukesh had opened a fake account named ‘Cute Nandini’ on Facebook and used to strike a friendship with her. He added the victim to his friends’ list and used to chat with her.
Later, he asked the girl to send her nude pictures. As the girl refused and blocked him, Mukesh morphed the victim's picture and videos and shared them on the social media.
Later, the victim informed about this to her family members, who lodged a complaint with the Cyber police. “Basing on the complaint, we launched an investigation and arrested Mukesh. His mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination,” police said.
