Unidentified miscreants hacked a youth to death at Samantarapur village under the Tangi police station in Cuttack district late on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Goutam Charan Swain, a resident of the village.
As per the family of the victim, Goutam went out of home to attend nature’s call in a nearby farmland and went missing. After he didn’t return for long they frantically searched for him. Later, he was found lying in a pool of blood in farmland with incised wounds on his neck and chest.
Getting information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem. While an investigation has been launched by police into the incident to nab the culprits, family members of the victim suspected old enmity behind the brutal killing.
