On the charge of killing mother and injuring younger brother, a 35-year-old convict here was awarded life with `10,000 as penalty and in default another 6 months’ term by the Sessions Judge V Jayashree on Tuesday.
According to sources, Ramchandra Ojha of Madhupura village under Kamarda Police Station on May 21, 2010 had killed mother Tulsi Ojha and injured his younger brother laxman Ojha with a sharp chopper over a domestic issue.
later, both were rushed to hospital at Jaleswar. While the mother died, laxman survived. The maternal uncle of the accused, Kartik Mohanty had lodged an FIR. A case was registered against Ojha. Earlier, Ojha was accused of killing his father but had been acquitted.
