A youth was found hanging in front of his house, late on Friday night at Balia Shankarpur village under the Salepur police station in Cuttack district.
The deceased was identified as Jamiruddin, was a truck driver by profession.
His mother Sakina Bibi alleged that her son was murdered over a love affair.
Jamiruddin was in love with a girl near his house. But, the girl’s family did not agree for their marriage. Even, the youth had received death threat for his relationship with the girl. The complainant alleged that the girl’s brother had visited her home at around 10.00 pm and took her son with him. Jamiruddin had told his mother to have dinner after returning to home. However, he did not return. When the family members opened the door at around 1.00 am hearing dogs’ barking outside, they found Jamiruddin’s body hanging in front of house.
They rushed him to the Salipur Community Health Centre (CHC), where he was declared dead. Later, Sakina lodged a complaint against the girl’s family members alleging them of killing her son.
