A body of a youth was recovered from his house at Kantapada village under the Olatapur police station in Cuttack district. The deceased was identified as Alok Sahu.
Alok had allegedly locked himself in his house and later ended his life by hanging himself. It was said that there was some dispute between Alok and his mother. Alok used to consume narcotics and allegedly used to beat his mother Shantilata.
Shantilata had reported the matter to police seeking their intervention. It was suspected that Alok ended his life following the family feud.
On getting information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. An unnatural death case has been registered and further investigation in this connection was ongoing, said Sadar SDPO Subhranshu Sekhar Parida.
