In a tragic incident, a youth who was installing CCTV cameras was electrocuted on the Grand Road (Bada Danda) here for the auspicious Rath Yatra to be held on June 20.
The deceased person was identified as Rakesh Behera, a resident of Rajabagicha in Cuttack district.
According to reports, the 25-year-old Rakesh died after coming in contact with an electric wire while installing CCTV above the control room.
Puri Town police sent the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
The deceased’s associate assumed that the incident might have occurred due to frequent fluctuations in power supply by the service provider.
