A youth was electrocuted as he came in contact with a 132-KV live wire at Basulei village under the Parjang police station in Dhenkanal district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Jagan Rout, who belonged to Basulei.
According to sources, Jagan had gone to a nearby forest to cut tree branches and bring them for his goats. Unfortunately, he came in contact with the live wire while cutting the tree branches. He sustained severe burn injuries on body and died on the spot.
On being informed, the Parjang police reached the spot and sent the body to a hospital in Parjang for postmortem. The cops have initiated a probe into the death.
