A youth was arrested in the city on Sunday for allegedly duping parents of medical aspirants of `60 lakh on the pretext of helping the candidates get admissions in a private medical college against the reserved seats. A source said the arrested person, Swarup Rout, told the police that he has been doing this business for past two years. A racket is involved in the whole act and two members of it are absconding, the source added. The parents of two candidates had lodged an FIR at the Khandagiri police station as their children were not allowed to take admission in the private college as promised by Rout in return of advance payment of `60 lakh.
