A youth, who was drugged and looted of his valuables, was found unconscious near the Madhusudan Park in Pokahariput under the Airport police station in the capital city on Sunday morning.
The victim was identified as Rabi Narayan Mohapatra (22), a resident of Banki in Cuttack district.
According to sources, Rabi booked an auto-rickshaw after de-boarding the Purushottam Express at the Bhubaneswar railway station. It was suspected that the auto driver offered him tea aced with some drug as they were travelling towards Kalinga Vihar. He then looted Rs 17,000 in cash, a gold ring and chain, wrist watch and other belongings.
Some walkers, who came to the park in the morning, spotted him and informed his family around and police. Some of his relatives, who stay in Bhubaneswar, arrived at the spot after receiving the call. Police also reached the spot and rescued the youth, who was then rushed to the Capital Hospital.
