A youth of Sundargarh district was killed on the spot after coming in contact with a live electric wire which had been laid to hunt wild boar. Sundargarh police registered a case of culpable homicide and were searching to nab the accused who had laid electric wire. The accused was stated to be absconding.
Lalindra Kalo (26) and Debasis Kalo, residents of Deobhubanpur under the Kinjirkela police station of Sundargarh district, had gone to Tangarjor village under Kinjrikela police station, on Monday night. While they were returning, both had gone near a pond for nature’s call which is near the house of one Subhash Pradhan. Lalindra had no idea that a live electric wire had been laid there and when he stepped over the live electric wire, he was electrocuted to death on the spot. Seeing this Debasis got shocked and screamed. After hearing the screaming of Debasis, Subash Pradhan who had laid live electric wire to hunt boar, reached there and told Debasis not to tell anyone about the incident. Subash later allegedly threw the body near a tree at Tangarjor, giving impression that Lalindra died of accident.
