The Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress has started its agitation against the ruling BJD in State and NDA Government at the Centre for their apathetic attitude towards the farmers’ community and farming sector. aIn the first phase, youth Congress leaders on Tuesday held demonstration at Brahmapur and slammed the Naveen Patnaik Government for poor irrigation facility.
“Proper irrigation facilities have been executed in only 35 per cent lands in 73 blocks in last ten years. If such steady process will continue then when the irrigation facility will be available in rest 125 blocks in the State,” questioned Youth Congress president Rajat Choudhury. As per the proposal, Choudhury said, party youth leaders will hold demonstrations at each district headquarters in a phased manner to press their demands before the Government.
