The Jagatsinghpur police have arrested a youth from Bhadrak district for allegedly blackmailing a Class-X girl of Jagatsinghpur district with her obscene clips.
The arrestee was identified as Laxmikant Das (20) of Atto village in Bhadrak district.
The accused Das came in contact with the girl after dialing a ‘wrong number’.
Later, he started making video calls to her frequently, during which he allegedly took some objectionable screenshots.
But when the girl stopped responding his calls after some days, Das then sent the photos to the girl threatening her to make those viral on the internet and demanded Rs 1 lakh.
Finding no other alternative, the girl informed her parents about her ordeal, following which her father lodged a complaint in the connection with the Jagatsinghpur police.
