In a tragic incident, a youth committed suicide in Keonjhar district by hanging himself with rope late on Wednesday night after reportedly being denied by his family members to go outside the State for a job.
The deceased was identified as Dillip Nayak (20) of Sagadapata village under the Ghatagaon police limits.
According to reports, Nayak had wanted to go to Karnataka with his neighbours to work there for a living. But his family prevented him from going out. Following this, he might have taken the extreme step after losing mental balance, sources said.
There was, however, a rumour that the suicide was fallout of a troubled love affair.
Police reached the spot, seized the youth’s body and sent it for postmortem.
