There is a rush among the educated youth to serve the State Government as is evident from receipt of 4,101 applications from young professionals from different disciplines ranging from BA to MBBS.
With these applications in hand, the Department of General Administration (DoGA) has asked various departments to submit their requirements by second week of December this year.
A communiqué to this effect by the DoGA has been sent to all the 17 departments to submit their requirements discipline wise. This would enable preparation of a discipline-wise, department-wise merit list of young professionals.
DoGA sources stated that the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) is presently working on taking up necessary tests/ interviews to prepare the merit list. The process is likely to be completed by the second week of December.
Giving details of the received applications of young professionals discipline wise, the DoGA letter mentioned that 541 applicants are BA, BSc and BCom graduates.
Besides, there are 1,178 BE/ BTech, 32 CA/ CS/ ICWA, 87 llB, 247 MPhil/ PhD and 616 MA/ MSc / MCom applicants. And even 45 MBBS, BDS and BPharma applicants have filed for young professional jobs in the Government.
Although the Government has planned to engage young professionals in different departments, however, it is not clear whether these engagements would be on a regular or contractual basis.
