'Yoga has tremendous positive effect on life'

Yoga, an age-old practice, has a tremendous positive effect on the human life. By its regular practice, not only it keeps one fit bodily, the mind as well as soul get activated with positive energy,” said ITR (Integrated Test Range), Chandipur Director Dr Binay Kumar Das while addressing a gathering organised by the Muni Samaj on the International Yoga Day here on Tuesday.

He said the medicines, especially antibiotics, one takes during sickness in fact kills the immune system of one’s body.

“Yoga is proven as panacea for all types of stresses and strains; besides, it keeps one physically fit. Above all, it purifies mind and soul. Moreover, it brings peace and enhances tolerances. The global society while passing through a agitating state with all acrimonies, yoga could be one of best solutions. Once it is practised internationally, peace would  once again prevail and probably no missiles would be required to fight wars,” said Das.

“Indians have been searching remedies to their diseases through Western medicines, but yoga has solution for all.  It is like Kasturi, which has been within us yet, we are making futile search,” he said.

Bishnudas Kundu, Kalakrushna Mishra, Kamlakanta Panigrahi and Dipanjali Das were among the others who addressed the gathering.
