The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), conducted an operations summit on ‘Enhancing the Supply Chain through Business Analytics’ here on Saturday.
Focussing on the significance of big data in terms of volume, variety and velocity, Prof WS William said that there is a need to develop foresight from hindsight and insight.
Similarly, Prof Subhajyoti Ray spoke about optimism and vision in the supply chain field, whereas Cummins India limited Senior GM Yogesh Antrad focused on the three key themes, Synchronized Business Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning and Network Optimism to enable vision in the supply chain management process.
Among others, Oracle Corporation Product Management Director Milind Phadke and Deloitte US Senior Manager Mohammad Ashraf spoke about the challenges while handling data for analytics.
XOPS, the operations committee of the XIMB, also launched its Android based mobile application, which is the first digital application to be launched by a functional committee of any B-School in the country.
Nearly 550 students and faculty members participated in the event.
