The Rural Managers’ Association of the XIMB (RMAX) launched its flagship event Gramotsava, a three-day rural marketing fair, here on Friday.

The event will include a two-day marketing fair at the villages of Begunia and Tangi in Khurdha district on Friday and Saturday.

The theme of the event for this year is ‘Connecting India: Digitalisation’, focusing on how digitalisation will connect India. The corporate participants for the extravaganza include Mahindra FES, Mahindra 2 and Mahindra Automobiles and IFFCO.

Dean of the School of Rural Management XUB Dr Kajri Misra emphasised on the merits of field experience and how digitalisation is making the necessary impact. The mascot of Gramotsava Boney Bhaina, an Olive Ridley was also unveiled during the launch.

The fair is organised to provide a platform to the participating organisations to promote and create brand value for their products and services among the rural masses, said Dr Misra

It will be held in three phases and ensure a comprehensive study of the taste, choice and preference of the rural market through qualitative and quantitative research methods and subsequent impact analysis.

The rural management students will set up stalls to display the products of various partnering companies. Awareness generation and information dissemination regarding the products and services will be undertaken through a range of interactive activities and games.
