The Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) on Monday officially inaugurated its PhD programme. The event was formally started by Prof Sandip Anand, who welcomed the dignitaries.
Among the notable guests were State Minister of Higher Education, Science & Technology Dr Pradeep Panigrahy, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Employment and Technical Education & Training Dr Chandra Sekhar Kumar and XUB Vice-Chancellor Father Paul Fernandes, SJ and Registrar Father Tony Uvary, SJ.
Dr Panigrahy in his inaugural address congratulated the XUB for the new PhD programme, under which 27 students have been admitted for the current academic session. He also stressed upon the fact that the XUB has not only brought great opportunities for Odisha but also opened doors for better education, research and consulting for the entire nation.
Dr Chandra Sekhar Kumar spoke about the Government’s vision to improve the quality of education and provide ample employment opportunities.
